General Info

What is The Waterwheel Vineyard?
We’re a laid-back, family-run vineyard in the Hudson Valley, offering estate-grown wines, wood-fired pizza, and beautiful countryside views. Come sip, relax, and stay awhile!

​

Do I need a reservation?
Walk-ins are welcome, but we do recommend reservations for larger groups. Please note, we only allow reservations for people of 15 or more and it is a $50 fee to make a reservation. Otherwise seating is first come first serve if you do not make a reservation. If you are looking to have a non-private party at the vineyard, you are required to make a reservation. What are your hours?
We’re open Fridays from 4PM - 9PM, Saturdays 12PM - 8PM and Sundays from 12AM to 6 PM.

How long is a reservation?
You're reservation is good for as long as you'd like it for. As long as you are wrapped up by closing.

Are kids and dogs allowed?
Yes! We’re kid-friendly and dog-friendly. We want everyone to enjoy the vineyard.

Can you picnic?

We do allow you to bring your own blankets and hang out! However please remember that we do not allow outside food and beverages.

Food & Drink

​

Can I bring my own food or drinks?
We do not allow any outside food or beverages. But don’t worry, we have cheese boards and delicious wood-fired pizza available, and we’re adding even more fun food options soon! We do not allow outside food and beverages for small gathering/parties as well.

Can I bring a dessert or birthday cake?
Yes! You’re welcome to bring a dessert or cake for your celebration. Just don’t forget a lighter if you’re doing candles.

 

Do you have gluten-free or vegetarian options?

We do have gluten free pizza dough and crackers for our cheeseboards. We also have cauliflower pizza crust as a vegetarian option. We do not have vegan food at this time.

Do you do pizza to go?

Absolutely!! We've been told we have some of the best pizza in the area. We do not take phone orders, so come on down, order a pizza to go and sip on a glass of wine while you wait.

Do you have beer or liquor?

We are working on getting some local beer here at the vineyard. Join our email list, check back frequently on our website and social to stay up to date for when that happens. We do not have liquor and do not plan on it.

 

Group Visits & Celebrations

Can I have a birthday or small gathering at the vineyard?
Absolutely. We love hosting low-key celebrations like birthdays, bridal showers, or girls’ days. Just give us a heads-up so we can reserve the right space for you. You can make a reservation online for 15 or more people, 60 days out. Please call us if you are looking to reverse a specific part of our space. No space is guaranteed if you do not call to secure that location, we will place you anywhere we have the room. Also please note, that we will be open to the public during any booked celebration.

Do I need to put down a deposit?

Yes, it is a $50 fee to make a reservation of 15 or more people. This fee does not go towards are food bill or tab.

What kind of decorations are allowed?
We keep things simple and natural here. You’re welcome to bring balloons, small table decorations, disposable goods like themed napkins, or tablecloths (just ask us a few days in advance for table sizes). Please leave confetti, glitter, noise makers or anything too elaborate at home.

 

Do I need to clean up after my gathering?
You’ll just need to clean up any decorations or personal items you brought in. Our staff will take care of clearing the food and drink.

 

Can I book the vineyard for a private event?
While we’re primarily open to the public on Fridays - Sundays and do not close for public events during those times. We will consider small events on a case by case basis on dates we are closed to the public. Please contact us otherwise. We no longer host weddings since opening to the public on Fridays - Sundays.

Events & Atmosphere

Is there live music?
Yes! We have live music on Fridays - Saturdays to set the vibe. Check our events page to see who’s playing.

Is the seating indoors or outdoors?
All seating is outdoors, so dress accordingly and bring a hat or sweater if needed. We have umbrellas for shade and some covered options when the weather is hot.

​

Is the vineyard wheelchair accessible?
We do our best to accommodate everyone, though please note the grounds are rustic and mostly gravel or grass. Let us know in advance if you have specific accessibility needs.

Can I just stop by for a glass of wine?
Of course! Whether you’re here for a full gathering or just want to enjoy a quiet glass, we’re always happy to have you.

Weddings and Large Events

At the moment we are no longer hosting weddings or private events (bridal showers, baby showers, etc) however we may be able to accommodate your wedding or event for you depending on the situation on a day we are not open to the public (Friday - Sunday). Please contact us to find out more.
